Hey,
I have a friend here in college wanting to buy a new rig.
He wants to be able to render videos relatively quickly (using after effects), play high end games and also the boring college work ;D

He has roughly £800 to spend. So if anyone has a moment to drop in any advice, it will be appreciated :D

Cheeeeers x

Woah, thanks mate :D

I'll have a look into the components that you have listed and talk to my friend :D

Thanks again <3

Above build looks good, but Id swap the gfx for the Asus version, £15 cheaper, and then use that £15 to get the XFX Pro Core 650W which would then leave the system able to handle a 2nd 6950 if your friend decided to add another one in a few years

The Motherboard will support crossfire, but if he wanted to seriously consider that as a future option he may want to look into a more powerful PSU... Just a heads up :)

EDIT:
Actually, reading up, what 95th said xD

I rushed through the graphics cards, but the Asus is just as good, and yeah the PSU he's suggested would be better :)

I've heard some news about sandybridge equipment being recalled :/

Basically the Motherboard may well be offered up for recall in a couple of months, they're having issues with some of the Sata ports, it's a slight inconvenience, but SB is still the way to go atm...

Havent seen what MSIs recall procdure is, you can check it out, theyre all commonly advertised, if its looking like itll be too much hassle, Asus offer 1st year advance replacement
