Lots of nice silicone hoses!

Tried to make everythign fit over the past few hours, not much room here from the intercooler to the inlet manifold. It's catching on the circled areas! Lots of trimming and tweaking required with these hoses.......

I REALLY take my hat off to you - best project thread I think I have ever seen on here :D

didnt you only just go back to work!?

can i have your job please....

Went back to work Sunday, add 4 days then I'm off! I have two days left in work next week before my month off :D

Thanks for all the comments guys, it really does help to keep me motivated!

I made a to do list today of what I had left to do. Came out at 45 items, some big jobs and lots of fiddly ones, 24 days to go to the rolling road meet. I's just hit me how much I have left to do! Ah well who needs sleep........... :D

Absolutely brilliant thread. Top, top quality.

Still checking it daily, even if it's the only thread I pop my head into :p Actually feel gutted when there's been no updates :D

Ant

Good evening all!

Not much progress today, this silicone pipework plumbing is very time consuming to get right.

This alone took about an hour of messing around with different bends, trial fitting the rad, checking everything else had clearance etc etc. Will get some metal pipe tomorrow to finish it off.

My silicone hell at the moment!

Some hoses to convert the rear calipers to mk4 golf ones, the mk4 calipers have banjo fittings that are circled below.

Also fitted the MAP sensor to the inlet manifold

Days off start tomorrow so some better progress to report then hopefully.

A warning to all you thread dependants, I'm going away for a weekend on the 27th are you sure you're going to cope without an update for 3 days?! ;)

i think you had best do a load of work and then split it over the 3 days.... maybe get a mate to upload it for ya. otherwise there will be some very annoyed people. :p

Ok, how much do we all need to chip in for you not to go away that weekend?

Messing with the Golf vs catch up with a load of uni mates....... No chance :D

Spent most of this morning sourcing the following parts:
Radiator, slimline fan, heatwrap, heater matrix and brake hose fittings ordered. They should arrive tomorrow.

Finished the bay wiring loom today:

Battery earth feeds done

DSCF0658.jpg

Alternator done

DSCF0657.jpg

Starter done

DSCF0659.jpg

All the above will be clipped in place when the engine comes out, as I need to drill holes for the clips.

Engine block earthing done

Spent a frustrating 2 hours trying to get the pedal box to line up properly so it pushes the clutch master cylinder in a straight line. The bracket I had welded on needs to be moved slightly (again!!!!). Will get it done tomorrow.
