My GPU is making massive vibrations and CRAZY noise.

Asus are a nightmare for RMA and before your Ninja edit, you was quite correct. Took me 6 weeks with one of my original Titans to get it replaced.

Not ninja enough though :D

And yeah Asus is not known for their RMA being the best unfortunately.

Haven't been too bad for me, did exchange my Swift at the door but took about 3 weeks to get one.

Isn't that for a 3 month period (guessing) though?

3 years

As of today, OcUK is launching Asus Turbo RMA service. What this means for OcUK customers is any VGA card you purchase from OcUK that develops a fault within the 3yr ownership period will have the following actioned within 48hrs of receiving your faulty card back and it being tested as faulty:

Post ** ASUS TURBO 3YR RMA SERVICE: OcUK CUSTOMERS ONLY!! **
Hi there

Though Asus is always in our top three of VGA brands and regular in no.1 position simply due to the quality of their product one issue for a lot of customers has being perceived RMA service being poor.

Asus generally offer great service for the reseller the issue being is your then in the resellers hands for RMA terms.

As of today, OcUK is launching Asus Turbo RMA service. What this means for OcUK customers is any VGA card you purchase from OcUK that develops a fault within the 3yr ownership period will have the following actioned within 48hrs of receiving your faulty card back and it being tested as faulty:

1. Replacement for identical card or next card up.
2. If GPU is EOL then a replacement to equivalent or faster performing card.
3. If a suitable replacement is not found then a refund at market value which should enough to buy you a same performing or slightly faster card.

I feel sick.

I've known fan blades come off before. Both user error and manufacturing fault. They are extremely thin blades bearing quite a lot of load at high speed. Weak point in the plastic casting or a hairline crack will mean it will eventually snap off.

At least with the OCUK Asus RMA you should get a new GPU very swiftly.

For the time being just run it as it is. Until you have to send it back that is. Just turn the volume up and hold onto your case so it doesnt take off :p

Turbo warranty sounds good to me! I'll see how long they think it will take. Maybe buy a second hand 390x and sell it again when I get mine back. Hopefully not make too much of a loss. I don't want to replace the fan. I know it's very easy to do but I'm a stickler for keeping my stuff nice all the box and everything perfect. So when I sell it, I'm selling a good item. I wouldn't feel right selling a card where I had replaced the fan.

It's possible that ASUS can send you another fan that you can replace yourself rather than have to deal with replacing the whole card. Discuss it with OcUK customer service.

In the meantime you could deal with the noise, remove the fan or just play 2D games instead.

I only bought it December. Asus Strix 390x

I suggest your read Gibbo's post again - the OP obviously qualifies for this Turbo RMA service, as he has an Asus product bought from OCUK and that's currently under warranty.

It does not mention that only asus products bought from that day forward are eligible, why anyone would assume so is beyond me.

No matter the fan speed it should not happen. My mate broke his by stupidly touching it while it spun. He thought it had stopped :D:D:D. I don't think this is uncommon. I have seen a few threads where people were asking about replacement fans due to a fin breaking.

Why on earth would anyone think of doing that?

Had this happen before to one of my case fans. Working normally for months, suddenly while browsing I hear a large clunk, and then the case starts wobbling a bit. Lost a fan blade exactly as OP.

I managed to glue it back on, well enough that it was balanced and silent again, but it was a 240mm case fan, I wouldn't want to faff about doing that on a small GPU fan.

Why on earth would anyone think of doing that?

I've done it to a fan before to test it was spinning, but I touch the circular solid part int he middle. Would never think about touching the blades while in operation, that's madness.

In the meantime do I need to install/uninstal anything? Or just use the comp with the card removed? Will it auto use intel graphics? (shudder)
