My GTS 8800 wont install HELP!!!

Well my EVGA 8800 GTS 320mb superclocked arrived today.......

BUT!...

if i try to use the driver cd that came with the card the pc hangs half way thru the install.....

if i use the latest drivers from the Nvidia website, the will install but the pc them wont go into windows......
i have a Antec Truepower 550 so it should be getteing enough power....

what else could be wrong.....

any help apreciated!

sounds like your motherboard doesn't support the card what is it (mobo)?

reseat the card, make sure power connector is plugged into the card, and generally make sure you haven't moved anything while physically installing the card. That would be my first port of call

Got mine today aswell, but abit differant. Installed card and drivers, restarted...WORKED! now im just updating drivers

I would still like a better mobo, my 3dmark06 score was abismal....5800

i have 2gb of ram,8800 gts and the 4CoreDual-VSTA.

the weakest link being the mobo..

£150 max. BUT i want the best i can get (little flexability!).

i want to build a high spec games pc (but not looking to break and benchmarking records!)....
