My HDTV not working

Hi

I bought an HDTV last week but when I turned it on to show Sky (not Sky HD) channels it gave me only sound and no picture. I used a sky box that is not HD but I think it should work as im not viewing the HD channels. Does anyone know if I must have a HDTV box to view normal channels? or is the tv supposed to show me normal channels without HDTV receiver?

You should be able to view normal channels on the TV. Is all your cabling in correctly. Are you connecting the sky bok to the TV via a SCART lead? If so, perhaps try a different SCART connection on the TV if possible.

I tried both scart connections, the three composite A/V connections and the simple antena in. no success. Suppose its faulty

what make is your tv and have you tryed a a different signal source i.e xbox or dvd player ....check the osd too !...may just needing setup ! gl

I had exact same problem as this with my sammy 26 inch. Faulty.
