My Highend Gaming Build Log

Looking good mate .

Not sure if you've tested GPU before going water ?
Good practice next time around if you haven't, 'dry test ' all your parts. Most assemble mobo, CPU, GPU , ram and PSU on the mobo box just to make sure it all boots :)

I borrowed a cheap graphics card from a friend to try boot my system, just to make sure everything was ok. So i filled my loop and and booted up the system, it booted fine so i turned it back off and drained my loop. i closed the case door over on the pc and as i was cleaning the room i asccident touchet the outside of the case and got a static shock, im now worried that its passed into the inside and shorted the board. How likely do yous think that is, the case was not earther as i removed the power supply.

Not got the time to fill the loop again and test it.

Panicking

How do you find the case? Is there enough room without it being cramped???

But seriously wow, I love this case so much and love seeing builds in it, the only negatives to the case are the cost and size imo

this is only my second ever build, so i dont really know what to expect from a great case tbh, i had a large budget for a pre built pc, now that i'm building it myself ive save about £2500 so that's why i overspent on the case.

price aside it does look stunning, the tempered glass window is beautiful, the case has plenty of space, and the amount of accessories is crazy, but i do agree £800 is a lot of money for something that wont give and performance value.

any thoughts on my last post regards to static shock, im bricking it here and when i went to google it scared me more

Case should have taken the hit, and components be fine. When you get a shock when handling the parts directly you can start to worry .

Fill up loop and double check. For your budget make time :) again try not to rush

ok ill do it tomorrow.

worst case scenario would it be only the board, or would the cpu have been damaged.

Sorry for the noob concerns, and once again thanks for the replies its really appreciated

I've built many systems never had an issue with static. What i always do i build on wood floor and/or table but never carpet. Before i touch anything i plug psu in wall but with it all off then touch the psu. Never had an issue before but good luck anyway

Managed to fill the loop again and it posted first time. soo glad, just hoping that there wasnt damage done that will occur over time

ordered my 2 asus 1080ti founders editions. Just waiting for the waterblocks to come back in stock, and my wires being shipped from cablemod, all being well my build should be complete in about 1 week

Uses some pillars to remove the screws if they have warranty stickers on ;) bit of a mission sometimes though

If you've got the cash, worth getting some Thermal Grizzly pads along with their paste. If you've got really deep pockets, alohacool 17w/mk thermal pads...

Not going to help break records, but I like to know I'm water cooking something, I'm getting the most heat out of it :)

You will be fine I would have thought if you had a static shock with the case then any ESD voltage will be through the ground of the Motherboard. ESD should only really be an issue if the voltage gets to an active component which it shouldn't through the ground.

Also loving the look of the build, will be watching this.

It's the best out of the box configuration I've seen from a case I'm enjoying doing my project in this case .

And the cost aye its steep but so is a caselabs with same configuration will probably cost 1000 to 1100 bucks.
Plus you get the best looking case around as a pro bono
