I have so much lag going on, which does not help when playing games. I am with Virgin Media at the moment, are they having issues? - Or is it me?
 
I'm guessing with a ping like that you are seeing a fair amount of packet loss.

I had this for about a month, then it magically went away.
 
I had this a loooong, looong time ago back when I was with NTL (VM) and in my first Uni house. I couldn't play games at all, instant 500-1000 ping.

The only times I could get an online game going was from about 23:30/00:00 to about 10:00 then the problem came back. Does it affect you 24/7? I complained a few times but they always denied a problem.

Sorry to say but it just automatically fixed itself...2/3 months later. I eventually put it down to a traffic management/dodgy exchange issue and moved on with my life. Huge pain in the backside though.

Call them up and ask wtf!
 
I'd first rule out anything on your end from causing the latency issues. Isolate the connection and try it on a couple of different machines in your network to see if it does the same thing or not. Unplug the modem from the router and plug the connection straight into your PC if you can (via ethernet). Does it happen with wireless disabled still? etc

You need to be sure it's definitely the connection causing it, as clients connecting to the router (if you have one) may be running applications that eat up bandwidth such as torrent applications
