My Ipod shuffle is not playing and songs…

I have tried updating it in itunes, it has the latest firmware, itunes sees it and I can add music to it.

But nothing plays, anyone else had trouble with this, it’s the older shuffle and is out of warranty!

try getting one of the cables that uses the line-out on the ipod (through the same connection as the usb lead) to see if theres a problem with the headphone socket
