My mates coffin - Not sure if srs

But for my own funeral everyone should wear black and white. I love that combination. It's so strong.

I personally think the whole idea of being buried is horrible. Have my corpse left to rot in the ground? No thanks, chuck me on the fire and spread my ashes into the river where I grew up.

I personally don't care. I'll be dead by then, so how would I care? There is no "chuck me on a fire" because if there was any "me" it wouldn't be in the corpse.

I'd like my corpse to be salvaged for spare parts and the leftovers used for something useful, but that's a matter of practicality. It could be given to necrophiliacs for an orgy for all I care.

Nice idea behind it. People get buried in all sorts of things and the most of the wacky ones are done/built before death so theyre completely happy with it. Me however I wont have a choice of cremation or bury because there isn't enough space. But I don't care I'm sure there won't be an argument about me :p

I personally like the idea of cremation, then some exotic place like the one in 'Bucket List' - some himalayan mountain peak. Or Grand Canyon ( 'Due date' ). Few other places maybe :-)

Gets expensive though. I wouldn't be surprised if the land owners see dollar signs :)

When my mate passed this year, his coffin was done up with a wrap like that but had Budgies on it as he liked them.

I think if the person who has died requested an alternative kind of funeral then them wishes should be adhered too. Funerals are a personal thing and everyone's tastes are different.
I am quiet outlandish but personally, when my time on this earth has come and I've passed on I want a simple normal coffin and for the few that attend to wear black.

When my dad died we knew he'd want a traditional service, heck he was cremated in a suit, black boots and tie as he was a very formal bloke. Now if he wanted to be cremated in a coffin shaped like a coffee mug or something I'm sure we'd have tried to accommodate his wishes but that wouldn't have been my dad.

I've already told my family when I go, do as they please. I don't mind what happens with me once I'm no longer around.

Why did they choose marine fish instead of tropical fish (if he loved tropical fish)?

Anyway I think this this might look a bit silly for some people but the very few who ordered it.

There is an awful lot of pointless tradition and guilt associated with funerals that make the whole process more miserable than it has to be. Undertakers prey on this to extract more money for fripperies.

You must have a church do, you must have a meal, you must invite everyone, you must dress up and look somber, you must drive around in a hearse.
Why?

Because this Country is still stuck in the Victorian era, when it comes to tradition.

As someone else has already mentioned, celebrate the fact that your mate was part of everyone's life - yes it is sad that he is no longer there, but I think it is nicer remembering him doing something that made you laugh out loud than crying your eyes out.

As for the Coffin - it reflects one of the things he enjoyed so why not?

My wishes WERE to be left at the hospital and taken up to Keele University in the cadaver rooms where students could practice on me.
About 2 years ago my family talked to me about it because they had heard it could take up to 3 years to get back whats left of my body and they wouldn't have closure.
I've had to give up on that idea and told them to do what they want but on the cheap.
My only request is 3 songs:
Buddy Holly - That'll Be The Day
Neli Andreeva - Malka Moma
Metallica - Enter Sandman

I'd like to be laid out in some mountains (somewhere with proper animals) to be munched upon by vultures, wolves and other scavengers. It sounds quite nice, obviously I'd prefer to be dead and fingers crossed I don't get dragged off to some locals hut to be sodomised.

If I had a friend in the same situation, I like to think I wouldn't criticise how he chose to plan his inevitable departure from his loved ones and concentrate on doing what I could to help.
