havent done anythign with my car for a long time now kinda lost interest but here she is...
1275cc spi 32bhp at the wheels 64 at the block york dragstrip times of 18 secs LOL
it has a customised stage 1 kit on it carbon frontend that i cracked when i slid off a B road =( endless listos of upgrades to the handling next on the list was either a engine bore to 1330cc with stage 3 head and lairy cam (well something along these lines) or a Suzuki swift conversion either idea i have would produce 120bhp + but i never got round to doing the engine still sat on the drive doing nothing....

nice where u getting your head, block done m8?

well we have had 1 done at Green and white mini spares at Hutton le spring i think the town was called every 1 (into mini's)around the sunderland area knows of the place i recomend him he does all the work we can't be bothered or don't know how to do LoL !

the swift conversions usually do produce 120ish bhp the engine standard might not but the kits out there do :) and the re-bore option ,head, cam, pistons ect gets you about the same bhp im a bit rusty with the stats it might be a bit less but i'v seen many amounts of uprated blocks and conversions makes the mini fast as fcuk down the strip or on a track...

I appreciate the amount of time and effort you put into this, and can understand from a "project" point of view why you're doing this. My friend is just about finished a similar thing with his mini which has cost him thousands of pounds.

This is probably going to be controversial, but really what are the point in minis on today's roads? I've never been a fan and they don't seem to do anything particularly well.

They are ok cars for having as a weekend project, or as a new driver as they are cheaper to insure. They are also very easy to find parts for and to add modifications to. Also they are an iconic car, so why shouldnt they be on the road :)

Unless of course you are talking about the BMW minis... in which case they have no purpose on the roads today

only 32 at the wheels from a spi? ive never seen one that low before.

years ago i tested a spi that had 40 at the wheels and that was due to a blocked exhaust.

Looks pretty cool, I like that front end. Should make the numbers and in my opinion keeping it simple with a direct swap engine is the way forwards. Too many people overcomplicate things and spend a fortune, then the car becomes too precious. My friend's one got 110hp at the flywheel with a good stage 2 head, not particularly ridiculous cam and large single SU.

What? It's a drivers car and a total hoot to drive at it. So what if it's been surpassed by technology, simple fun doesn't get much better than this.

yes when it was rolling roaded it had crap tyres on a bike exhaust with all the fibre mat stuff taken out so it was a V big bore for a tiny engine them both killed the ground bhp and othertings will have lowered to output too like running dodgy and being a old engine its such a low bhp yet it beat saxo's corsas of the same-ish ltr when i floored it about i loved it while it was on the road  also Sooo fun when your with the mini clubs driving over the lakes and to the drag strip mini v beetle days ect there are Propper drivers cars im my eyes..

I think that they are hilarious to drive, more fun at lower speeds than anything I've driven. I'd never have one though, unless I could pay someone to keep it up and it could be kept in a heated garage!
