my mk1 golf progress (mk4 dash fitted)

lo all, after years of wanting a mk4 golf dash in my mk1 i finally got round to doing this today.

i havent got any new pics of the out side of the car, but i havent done anything since christmas.

let me know what you think or ask some questions

Looks like quite a handful.

I remember (for some odd reason) trying to fit a corsa dash into a nova (don't ask), that was a pain in the ****!

What are you doing about the door cards, doesn't look to be a lot of room between the side of the dash and the side of the doors!

hi mate,

im planning on using some cabby door cards as they cover the full door and dont leave the top metal part exposed.

theres loads of room, atleast 0.001mm haha. it will be fine im sure

im gona have to fit electric windows though as the winders wont work now due to the dash.

Looks cool, I really like mk1 golfs. Maybe you should have fitted a porchse dash though, like this old Jetta

Nice one on fitting the MK4 interior, the one thing that bugs me about the old cars is the interior's, I do plenty of miles and would like comfort sometimes too, you will have with the mk4 interior.

I think it looks/will look really good. Not too modern, but very modern for a Mk1. Good move IMO (but a pain in the arse!). P.S, what have you done about clocks/clock readings?.

No, he will have an asthetically pleasing dashboard. The rest of the car is still a Mk1 Golf.

Looks good though, nice job!

im running the full mk4 wiring loom, ecu and engine so evrything just plugs straight in.

the only problem i think i might have is the fuel guage sender but i havent looked into it and ill sort it out when i get too it

Ages ago I saw a couple of MK1s in a magazine that had BMW E30 dashboards.

Looked really good.
