My mum has Cholangiocarcinoma! Weeks left to live

Thanks for everyones messages - Im a little shocked how Manchester Royal Infermary have delt with this.... Since she was diagnosed on Thursday no doctor or support service has seen her... shes even asked for a chaplin but no one came. She feels so alone and scared.

Because of my mums panic attacks one of the doctors told me nurses aint wanting to visit her and that my mum has got to realise that there are others in the ward we need to treat.

Last night mum was asleep and nurses came to give her an anti nausia pill (she gets very sick) - because she was sleepy she went back to sleep for another hour. When she awoke in pain and feeling sick she went to take her nausia pill and it had gone... another nurse said "we took it away as we didnt know what pill it was as it was unmarked... if your mum wants another nausia pill she should have taken it when we gave it to her so she cant have it now - her next dose is 4 hours away"!!!! when she starting to cry out in pain and start being sick in a bowl the nurses there rolled their eyes at my mums call for help.

That's really dreadful :(. As someone else said further up, get in touch with the MacMillan nurses as they are a brilliant source of support. Is there a hospice she can be moved to? My mums parents both died of cancer and were sent to a MacMillan hospice for their last week or two. The staff there were amazing both times, not just helping my grandparents but the whole family.

Agreed, the MacMillan nurses were brilliant when my Grandad was ill

Not sure what to say, save for I'm sorry to hear your news.

You sound like you have a strong head on your shoulders though, I take my hat off to you for that. It's not easy to keep focused during difficult times.

Wish you and yours all the best for the future.

Stay strong.

Can't express how sorry I am to hear that.

Keep your chin up and stay strong, the good memories will live on.

Extremely sorry to hear this news. My thoughts go out to you and your family. Having had some recent tragedy in our family I know how tough these times can be but best wishes to you all...

I lost my mum to cancer back in 05, feel really sorry for you, her and your family. Hope you all get a chance to spend time with her and she can come to terms with it psychologically. Good luck.

That's crap man :( Spend as much time as you can with her. I lost my dad in 2004 to cancer. All the best.
