My Name is TotalBiscuit - The Life and Times of John Bain

I 'enjoyed' that, but enjoyed is the wrong word. Looking past the production quality, it was a very good documentary and let John say it in his own words pretty much. I miss his videos and his sometimes very controversial opinions.

What kind of opinions did he have that were controversial?

I can't remember him doing or saying anything in regards to the PC platform that wasn't objectively correct.

I remember watching trump (the hearthstone player) break down in tears when he heard the news.

Was one of the most heartbreaking things I’ve watched on the internet.

TB was a highly intelligent, witty and honest man and what happened to him was cruel beyond words. His ‘controversy’ only helped to build his channel and display his integrity.

I hope he is looking down on earth and giving it a good hard review as we speak.

I think he said a few things about the Gamergate controversy that annoyed some people. I never paid any attention to any of the nonsense around it so can't comment on the accuracy of what he said.

That was an interesting, touching and very much a sad documentary. His WTF videos were great, I watched them all even if I had no interest in the game. I miss them :(.

I was always impressed by how natural he sounded he was when speaking. Apparently, he used to do his videos in pretty much one take. Btw, there's a video on YT by someone that used to work for him which I found very interesting, so maybe worth checking out (the channel is called Zooc Does Stuff). I won't link the video here as it contains swearing (I think) although I'm not quite sure about what stance OcUK has with that sort of thing nowadays, as I seem to notice it creeping in the odd post every now and again. I suppose I should read the FAQ...

Mainstream game Journalists attacked him because he didn't believe that gamer gate was an excuse to attack Women gamers/dev and "journalists"

Sorry was tired last night so probably didn't use the right word there. I know, and he said this himself, that he sometimes rubbed people up the wrong way but I truly believe he always had an opinion that he thought would be best for both the industry and the gamers. Sometimes he got this wrong, but he was human. :)

I was thinking about it last night and although I still watch YouTube a lot and follow some gamers, since his passing most of my YouTube content has not been gaming related. Had not thought about it until last night.

Is this the guy that told someone to get Cancer, or wished Cancer on them? Something along those lines.

I cannot remember exactly what was said or the situation said in, but yes something along those lines. Obviously he learnt his lesson here, unfortunately.

Yeah always stayed far away from moronic drama like Gamergate so to me he was just a guy who was bang on the money with anything and everything he said about the PC platform. To this day he is still underappreciated for the work he put in exposing the industries approach to PC gaming and also how it handles gambling across all platforms, I hope the man isn't forgotten any time soon.
