My New Build - With Pictures

Yea, the writing on the PSU must have threw you, would look a bit weird upside down :p.

Overall, a nice case. Does make me want to go fix up some of my cable management. Can hardly get the side panel on, there are that many cables hidden round the back!

yeah i just hope i can flip the psu around without undoing all my hard work with the cable management

yeah i just have the 2 to install for now. Does your top sata dock work ok? if i plug a drive in during windows i get a bluescreen, i need to power off first
I've not tried mine yet

i think you will have to enable sata hot swap in the bios settings.

Nice. :)

One issue your PSU is the wrong way round. The case has a PSU ventilation mesh and dust filter at the bottom of the case for a reason. :)
It's not. You can have it in either orientation, it's just personal preference. One thing I've found is that (even with the dust filter) with the intake facing down the PSU get a lot more dust inside than the other way around.

As for the writing, lol, I'm not sure about his particular PSU but mine has writing on the side that whichever way up you put it the writing is the correct way up regardless.

On topic, nice build, tho a bit messy behind and the wiring on show could be a little neater :p

Enjoy!

i cant do much more with the wiring its more the flash of the camera showing it up, its so black and dark you cant see anything other than the PSU cables

You could if you tie wrap the whole bundle first close to the psu, then take that whole budle at at 90 degree angle to the left and through the first hole it will look neater.

You can tie wrap the GPU cables together and have those come out through the same hole.

If you tie wrap and tidy the cables behind into one main trunk with branches comming off where you need them, this will help hide them and you wont be able to see them through some of the cable holes etc.

You dont have to use that open, unrubbered edges hole at the bottom at all.

:D

fair do's will have a play!

:)

It's very satifying when you get it just right!

I'm installing a new GPU and installing a fan controller (as long as they get here today, getting a bit too close to 6pm for my liking) so I'll be busy doing it all over again tonight.

Not everyones cup of tea getting cabling just right, but yeah, when you do it's a great feeling.

Edit: Using tie wraps in different ways you can get trunks of cables to make some very complying angles.

Mate I think you've done a pretty good job. Especially as you are learning as you go :)

Ok you do need to flip over the PSU and you could be more "anal" over the cable management but I think you should be pretty pleased with yourself.

I would move the rig forwards so you had better clearance at the rear (dont the speakers reach either side of the monitor?) and maybe sandwich the rad between 2 fans if you had one spare.

How have you got on overclocking it? :)

Well said

Yup, upside down mate. By flipping it over you'll be able to hide a few of the bulkier cables away. such as the 24 and 8 pin atx power cables.

Pic of my own to give you an idea.

Very nice build, the corsairs are superb cases for cable management.

Well done jimlad, looks a nice clean build. But if i was to you i would put your GPU in the top pcie slot as it will run at 16x. the slot you have it in now runs at 4x.

I tell you what mate ill give you my Intel core 2 duo with onboard graphics AND (wait for it) and 3 kinder suprises, yes not 1 not 2 but 3 kinder suprises, with action packed toys that will last you a whole 10 minutes, ill swap all of that for your PC i know im losing out but il take the punishment because your a OCUK forum member ;)
