I need to get some wax/polish as black is a b*tch to clean! So if you have any recommendations on what to get i would appreciate it!

Auto Glym Super Resin Polish.

I'd polish it when the sun isnt out though, and its not too hot.

Looks rather nice, i still dont understand why VW don't colour code the lower trims.

Crying out for 18's ;)

The audio system is the same as the one in my works 56 reg VW transporter 1.9TDI minibus (102bhp version :D )!! I would have thought the GTI would have had something better ;)

Lovely car :D

Enjoy it! Had mine a month or so now & it is loosening up nicely, great engine that loves to rev & yet very refined when taking it easy or in traffic.

Mine is also black & yep it's a bugga to keep clean, but looks the ******** when it is

Like the outside, but the interior looks pretty shocking IMO. So much grey plastic.

agree... interior looks awful for what it is.

outside, needs colour coding and new rims IMO. but bar that, awesome car buddy :D

The RCD 300 gets everywhere. Virtually any VAG product come van or car can be fitted with it :p

Yep it looks the same as the radio I had in my MK5 Golf 'Sport' for about a week. ;)

Looks a nice car, has it got the 17" or 18" wheels?

i think its a bit misleading, because from pics, yeah the interior looks wack, but when you're in there everything just seems so well made and solid.

Currently have the 17" but may get 18". The intertior doesnt look fantastic but as somebody has stated, the build quality is just fantastic! The car handles so well and is quite nippy considering the huge weight of thing. Ive got 135mph out of her and could still get more but was running out of motorway! Cost was around 17k. One of the most important factors for me is the driving position/comfort - the sporty seats and the lovely steering wheel just puts the iceing on the cake.

all you need to brighten the dash up is a nice dension ipod dock and a screwless brodit pro clip, which bizarrely I have spare as I'm trading my mk5 in for a Type R :)

radio can easily be swapped out for an MFD2 satnav [about 400 on auction site] and improves sound as well as its a more powerful amp

I was considering a golf gti myself but the Honda ended up a good bit cheaper and I like a change of interior when changing cars
