I say new, had it around a month now but only just got around to taking pics :o

Had a look at a few of these, first one I went to the dealership had sold and hadn't told me despite me arranging a test drive and viewing earlier the week...wasted journey. Second one looked pristine in the advert and the salesman talked it up on the phone, but was an absolute shed in the metal - I'd not by a car with 4 kerbed wheels, and a different brand of tyre on each wheel.

Settled on this one after looking at 4 others, as fate would have it 'WL' is also my initials as well as the start of the reg plate :D

Very low mileage for a 2006, only 9800 when I bought it - owned by someone in Truro who had it serviced every year with a Ford main dealer but hardly drove anywhere in it. Inside and out it was pretty much as new apart from one stone chip on the bonnet, when I picked it up I noticed it still had the cellophane protecting the badge on the steering wheel! Price was £8300.

No proper mods at the moment, just little things here and there - detango, ST500 carbon interior bits, aero wipers, smooth rear wiper, shorter aerial, bluetooth/ipod stereo etc. Needs lowering badly from a looks point of view, going to get Bilstein suspension at some point.

As to how it drives, well I compared it to the Clio 182 and its not as fast, and it feels a bit less chuckable, but it was far cheaper to insure for me and I preferr the look of it it inside and out by miles! Am hoping it will be better reliability wise too :D never been impressed with French build quality...

All thoughts/comments welcome :)

I like it - personally I dont think it needs to be any lower, looks fine to my eyes.

I wouldn't put the air freshener in the cupholder like that - some of them can damage plastics

I cant help but think its a huge amount of money for a 3.5 year old Fiesta, though.

I was looking at Mondeo ST220, Alfa GTs and the like but the likelihood of me being able to park anything that sort of size where I live at the moment is pretty poor :/ at least the Fiesta can fit on the drive along with my parents and sisters car :o

Nice colour! It does look brand new.

What's the funny thing underneath the radio, above the heater controls? Some sort of CD storage whatnot?

How much is your insurance if you don't mind me asking?

I put a similarly priced ST through a couple of comparison sites this summer - and the cheapest I got quoted was aroung £1800 FC, where as the same comparison sites got me just over £1k for my Leon. That's for a 21yo student living at home, garaged, low rate area etc.

I thought it was a bit steep considering that's even more than I paid for my leon last year when it was worth a fair bit more than the ST lol :-\

Insurance isnt so much about value, more about potential to cause a claim. The Fiesta ST is a warm chuckable sporty hatch, your leon is an economical diesel hatch, therefore less risk.

That's what I thought, plus more attractive to thieves maybe? It makes sense but it doesn't at the same time. Twice as much to insure a similarly powered car (iirc, could be way off though) just seemed a bit ott to me.

But as we all know, insurers can quote what they please really.

CD storage box, that clips into the pocket part of the Ford single-Din facia adapter (which is a must for this car btw, I bought an aftermarket facia from Connects2 and the fit was appalling, the Ford made one is perfect however). Looks better than just the gaping hole of the pocket IMHO, and it is useful.

Insurance was £727 FC, me being 23 with no NCB, with the car parked on the road rather than driveway (as sometimes I have to leave it on the road) in an average area of Wolverhampton. A Clio 182 came to about £1200!

Seems tidy all round and the face lift model (especially the front and rear lights) look much better than the previous ones.

I wish I knew about that when I had my old mk6, that stupid tray was pointless!
