My New Car

These were a real bargain on lease, some offers still are but unfortunately not as good as before. Discounts for this, the S3 and 135 are pretty good atm. 135 discounts are massive but its overpriced anyway.

I was about to get the R but then I tested the S3, the 135 just doesn't look appealing at all though it performs slightly better on track, in real world driving it doesn't mean much.

The R is a beast, becareful :)

it's all about the Haldex :D
but the Leon Cupra 280 has been reviewed as a faster track car.., in the real streets i would still pick the R

There are still some Lease offers about on the Basic R but definitively not the same as before Leasegate ;)

Nice car - I had a play with one on a drive home a few weeks ago - it's a shame it's a 2L turbo and no longer a v6, the standard exhaust didn't sound that great. There wasn't much in it between us (350z) but the 4WD & DSG does make it VERY quick off the mark. Once rolling though it was quite even, since they weigh roughly the same and have roughly the same power/torque and even 1/4 mile times. :) no idea what the handling was like as we went off in separate ways once the roads had more turns/roundabouts, but it certainly seemed well planted from what I saw. :)

Cool car - I think it looks pretty nice too. Enjoy it, but don't go too mad, be sensible - whilst it is quite a fast car, it doesn't mean you should drive it like one all the time! And there will always be someone faster than you ;)

Having lived with a V6 for a few years now, it's not that big a factor anymore especially when you save on fuel and road tax. They also make you feel a nice grumble inside the car so you don't feel the "its just a 2.0 engine", makes a little difference.

On launch control these things absolutely fly, as you say, be careful with a fast car - couldn't be more right!

I noticed a post about revo, this is the next gen ea888 engine so there isn't much by way of reliability information and once you mod the warranty is void. I think its powerful enough as it is!

unless your buying this out-right, you could not mod it, the next big upgrade would be the R 400 which i would expect around 2016-2017 ..

I am counting down the days to mine arriving :D

Finally got mine delivered on Saturday from cheltenham, caked in mud marks on pedals and doors, delivery driver said he had a dirty chamosis :D

It is been fantastic so far, love the DSG and DCC option , which is a very good option giving you all adjustments and comfort too, the noise in race mode and the speed :) it is a big step up from my Audi A1 122 PS which i thought was quick :D

I've had one of these for 5 months now.

Traded in the a4 3tdi.

It's quick, and handles great. Quicker than my TTS I had before the a4.

I've hit 39mpg on a run, with very little traffic.

However proper town driving with lots of stop start you are getting 20-25 in Eco mode lol. Fox is correct haha.

I did my fill up on Sat after drop-off so started at 120 Miles on clock and low fuel light warning displayed. tank brimmed to top with unleaded @ 124.9 P/L total of 49.42 litres added at £61.73, I have been heavy with my right foot recently :) so i can't expect too much more than 19-21 this time , but will post back when i get to the warning light.. :)

You got dsg nam?

I've had some interesting encounters with this car.

In particular a v8 r8 manual that could not pass me lol. Oh we was trying hehe.

yes the DSG or S-Tronic as Audi call it i had in my A1 and i loved it. I knew it would be quicker and smoother in the R and it is , the best thing about it is the noise on upshifts and downshifts when in R mode which it does automatically. It definitively grow's on you .. :D
