Just thought I'd post some pics and my impressions of my new EVGA GTX 680 SC which I got today afteer wating for god knows how long (allthough I cant complain as I got it for free :p)

Ive gone from a GTX 470 and wow....what a jump in performance, I havent played around with overclocking as its vastly different from doing my old 470, but after giving the Witcher 2 and Battlefield 3 on maxxed out settings at 1900x1200 im getting a rocksolid 60fps vsync'd.....the games look amazing and run soooooo frigging smooth.....definetely a happy bunny...what a card :)

Oh and the biggest bonus, is that under load I cant hear it...at all......unlike my GTX 470, which litterally sounded like a jumbo jet taking off in my living room!

Im finding it hard to hold off buying one of these new cards.
My overclocked 480 is doing me ok at the moment so i shouldn't complain.

Nice crotch shot btw. :D

Out of interest have you tried overclocking the card yet?

I have to agree, most of the games I play the card itself is basically inaudible, although I do game with headphones on, and the few games that are demanding I've never seen it go over 60% fan speed which is still very quiet. :p

I also came from a gtx 470.

Try +100 on the core and +350 on the memory. Put the power offset slider to 1 or 2 under maximum (for some reason mine are stable on this setting rather than maxed)!

Most people overclock for fun, or for benching. No one i know overclocks out of necessity (people do, just no one i know :P)

Yeah true....allthough I overclocked for necessity for my 470 to get some extra perfomance at high settings on games.....im gonna give it a whirl though and start with the settings above :)

Do you have Heaven 3.0? Let it loop a couple of times to flush out any instabilities but +100 should be an obtainable OC. Memory OC should be fine.

I actually managed to get +200MHz running perfectly stable after a few loops of kombuster (need to download heaven) after adding a bit more juice......but my 3D mark score actually went down....im assuming this might be down to thermal downclocking at 70+ degrees?

Got mine running at a moderate overclock of +120mhz core clock and +350mhz memory clock.

Left it looping for about half an hour, seems pretty stable.

Thats with the power target at 120%.

Temperatures was around 79-81 degrees with 61% fan speed, a little louder than I would have liked but thats a worst case scenario.
