My new Intel 11900K @5500Mhz vs. old Intel 8700K @5300Mhz CPU performance test

I think that's where we are with OC'd 5600x/11600K's will be really close to mega core cpu's in gaming. At 4K seen no real difference between 4.8-5.3ghz on 10850K..

i still have my 8700k running 24/7 5.2 (5.4 Max) but I am now runing 10850k @5.1 as my main rig
For games its still better than 8700k not so much in 1440p but still better.. is it worth additional money? Probably not.. but its definitely faster

for comparison 8700k @5.6

Damn that shows quite well how far AMD has come in single thread IPC when a 5.6ghz Intel can't break 600 and we have users here breaking 700 with their 5.1ghz ryzen

Also goes to show just how good value a CPU like the 8700k turned out to be in that even though it's 4 years old it still delivers top tier gaming performance but also shows what poor value the 5600X is when 4 years on you're still getting 6 cores with virtually the same gaming performance for only a few quid cheaper.

So for all those now shelling out 300 quid on a 5600X you could have brought an 8700K and enjoyed 4 years already of similar performance at almost the same price.

Are you sure that is in R20? I've a best of 646 which was with a boost averaging around 5ghz.

That is why i am still keeping mine.. Especially that it does 5.4

yes ask ltmatt his 5950x gets 700
715 to be precise. I’ve actually scored 717, but when I looked back at my screenshot it was a bit blurry so I decided not to post it in the Cinebench thread.

EDIT - I am referring to CBR23 btw, not CBR20z Best I managed in CBR20 was 668 I believe. I posted it in the CBR20 bench thread but I don’t think it’s been updated.
