My new media player just arrived

It's from the Contemporary furniture company. The model is Kentucky large tv unit. Great piece. Solid oak and built so nicely. Arrives pre built. Takes 2 people to move. As well as a proper shop they also have an eBay shop. Which is where I bought it from. They used to put one on auction once a month. I won it for £200. No bad for a brand new item with an rrp of £700

this looks pretty great...so does one of the models come preinstalled with xbmc?

also, what ram does this take? I think i'd like to get 4 gigs instead of 2..

Quite impressive - rather disappointed I missed out of the discounted items from only a few days ago. Thanks for details regarding the unit as I've been looking for some decent Oak furniture for the living room.

What skin is that? I run XBMC on my pc just as an standalone prog rather than an OS - i use either keyboard or HTC One X as remote.

Looks good. What chipset does it use? Would also like to know if it can play back a Bluray ISO as that is something my Dune HD Smart cannot do. This might be a good alternative the Popcorn Hour.

For XBMC?

Millions of them around, avforums has a massive one.

It's pretty simple once you get your head around it, I love it. Slowly building up a media PC just now to take full advantage of it.

The premium takes sodim. Standard takes standard ddr3. I've stuck a single 4gb stick in but another 4gb is on its way just because it was so cheap.

Cheap or not, it's still a waste of money. XBMC, especially Openelec, doesn't run any better on 2gb than it does with 4gb. 8 is certainly overkill.
