Hi Folks,

Yesterday I purchased a new Nano with the Nike+ set and the arm band. I have been trying to get it to work but have so far been unable to conect the nano to the sensor. I am posting here for any suggestions as to how to get it working otherwise I am going to try and take it back to the apple shop. Every time I try and begin a work out with it it can't detect the sensor and eventually comes to a screen saying that I should try again.

I don't run in Nike+ trainers and so have had to purchase a switch easy for the sensor. However on the site there is no FAQ to help me to get it to work. I have read a few accounts of people using these switch easy kits with out any trouble so wanted some advise on how I could get it to work.

How long should it take to find the sensor?
Is there an optimal place to put it on the trainer (nearer the toe or ankle etc)?
What are the steps I need to take to get it to work?

Many thanks for any help,

Matt

Only just noticed this thread, I would have answered earlier but if you still have the Nike+ kit try pressing the button on the back of the sensor. It's the sleep button, perhaps your sensor is having 40 winks. My sensor is usually picked up by the receiver within a few steps so it shouldn't take too long for it to pick it up if it's working ok.

With regards to not wearing the Nike+ shoes - neither do I. Make sure you have the sensor flat in your shoe with the apple/nike logo facing upwards and forwards. I cut open the tongue in my old shoes and pushed the sensor down until it was as far down as it goes near my toes. I can't do that in my current running shoes but I just put the sensor in on the top of my foot near my toes where it wedges against the material above it. It works perfectly well and I can't tell it's there once I lace up.

Good luck getting it working, it's a good bit of kit and I have found it highly motivating.

I think it must be broken. I have pressed the button on the sensor and still nothing. Tried it behind my laces and in the switch easy holder and nothing either. I'm going to take it back tomorrow and get another one. I think I'll take my nano with me and see if it works in the store too. I am presuming it is the sensor though and not the bit that connects to the ipod.

I get my nike+ menu when I conect it and can change the settings and stuff, just can't find the part that goes into my trainer.

Thanks for the help

Matt
