I've had my P180 for sometime now and it's always been quite loud generally.

Each of the fans has a selectable speed setting, and each of those is set to the minimum.

I'm also using an 3800 X2 + stock cooler and a BFG 7800GT.

What can I do to make things a little quieter?

The stock graphics card cooler will make a racket, a real racket.

Change it for a Zalman VF900 and see how it goes after that. My initial advice, the stock cpu cooler could be changed at a later date but they are not that bad.

My point is proven that a noisey PC in any case still makes a lot of noise. :p

If you fitted the CPU cooler yourself, and can follow instructions then no harder. :)

Took me about 30 mins, I also had a phone call and a girl was talking to me while I was doing it.

Easy peasy and the biggest noise reducer in the modern PC. After its the northbridge and the CPU fan.

IMO NB and graphics can run each other close, the abit ones are terrible for noise. the stock 3800 cooler as you say isn't much of an issue, my PC is nice and quiet and uses a stock cooler ( uses a stock on the X1800XT for that matter ).

I have an A8N-SLI premium which has a passively cooled NB. Will replace the Gfx and CPU heatsinks & fans.

Any suggestions for a quiet 939 cooler?

Saves a bit of money, can always pick the cooler up at a later date as the 7800gt will easily be several times louder than the stock cooler, I have had the same combo. :)

I have the p180, with an Artic64 cooler on the cpu and 2x vf900's on my gpu's. Overall the pc is fairly quiet. The main sources of noise now are the gpu's still, as im getting slight windrush from the gpu's being so close to each other. The other source of noise is the CPU HSF. The nois from this can be elliminated by running the fan at 70-80% speed in speedfan, but I tend to run it at 100% due to my room being red hot. But if you only have one gpu, and you can run the CPU fan a bit slower, the pc should be really quiet.

with my p180 I had a noise issue at first, and seeing as I had a silent GFX card I narrowed it down to either PSU or the stock AMD HSF.

changed the HSF for an arctic cooler and the noise went away.

some hard disks can make a bit of a racket too though.
