My Noob Questions Thread.

4GB not 4TB

Higher the better in essence, at 1440p 4GB will be enough for most games

Righto, Is there any benefits from pairing a GPU with the same brand of mother board?

Also, Ive read that most people recommend that you have 8GB of RAM, how do I know if I can fit that in, and do I have room for more if I want to put more in?

Is it this?

Memory Support Supports DDR3 3200(OC)/ 3100(OC)/ 3000(OC)/ 2800(OC)/ 2666(OC)/ 2600(OC)/ 2400(OC)/ 2200(OC)/ 2133(OC)/ 2000(OC)/ 1866(OC)/ 1600/ 1333/ 1066 MHz up to 32GB

If you get a 2x4GB set of memory (2 sticks of 4GB) then you'll be fine and be able to slot another 2x4GB of the same memory in in the future. The memory support list are the speeds that the memory can run at :)

No benefits at all for pairing the same motherboard and GPU brand :) I recommend Gigabyte motherboards, as they have the best warranty, support and the motherboards themselves are excellent also

Hiya, mind if i ask a few questions?

What sorts or types of games do you want to play?

Do you want to game at high everything right now?

Do you want to game at high everything in a years time?

Do you want to game at high everything in 2 years time?

The answers to these questions will help the people on this forum help you figure out what sort of system you need.

When you come up with a budget come back and we'll spec you up :)

Cheers pal, not really looking for anybody to spec me up, I probably wouldn't learn anything if I let somebody else put a package together for me.

Just advice and pointers about my choices. How do I show the contents of my basket here and I will show you what Ive got in it so far.

Thanks shivy, so in general you start to drop below that 60fps 'holy grail' by the looks of it.

Yep, but if something is at 60fps on a 60Hz monitor it still looks fine, as you can see @ high settings at 1440p it still stays at 60fps :)
