CACJE 0604 CPAW stepping

Im currently running it at 2.7ghz on stock volts (1.360) 270x10 with a 150 divider on Geil Value memory (192mhz 2.5-3-3-6 timings)

Havent tried for higher or primed yet but just played BF2 for a couple of hours. sweet, i wonder what it can do with a slight volt adjustment :)

and thats called game stable in my book which good enough as long as YOU happy :D

K, here's a couple of pics, I know its only been ran for a couple of hours but im still impressed for a chip i paid £113 for, increased the voltage very slightly and ramped it up 800mhz

SuperPI does 30seconds for 1mb and 5min 45 for 8mb. More importantly games play smooth

DFI Ultra-D. Ill be ordering some GSkill PC4000 on monday i think but how do i get to 3ghz on geil value ram, cant go above 200mhz really.

Is it prime stable, if so thats a nice OC. Had to put my voltage up to 1.42 to get 10 hours out of prime at 2.8. Same stepping btw

it is for 2hours, not sure about 10 i will run it on monday when im at work at the same settings. Im thinking that if I want to run it at 3ghz (if it will) ill have to up the volts to about 1.4 something

sorry people, it seems cpu-z was/is lieing to me. I have the volts in bios on 1.425, is 3ghz on a 2/03 divider a no go or is it still possible say with 1.45volts?

so would it be better to leave as it as at 2.8ghz or try it at 3ghz at 1.5volts? i see quite a lot of people leaving theirs at 2.8 and 1.42volts (same as mine)

what the hell does 'life span' mean anyway. if i ran it at 1.6volts would it just suddenly die after 2 years or something?

Its not volts that kill its the temperature. My 3700 was doing 3.1ghz at 1.55v. It idled at 24degrees and load was 35degrees. I put 45degrees at my load limit. Its your choice whether you want to leave at 2.8ghz. My 3700 was good for 3.2ghz at 1.62v but i thought this was too high a voltage increase for an extra 100mhz so left it at 3.1ghz. In the rare event it dies after 2years remember theres 3yr warranty if you forget to mention "overclock".
