my overlock passes 12+ hours of prime (blend and fft) but fails intel burn test

Doing some stability testing while waiting for my gpu to arrive, basically my oc 4.4 i5 2500k @ 1.296v passes 12 hours of prime 95 both Ftt and blend but fails on the 3 or 4 cycles of intel burn test maximum. (pc just restarts) (it does pop up with a warning message about low memory on ibt but i usually ignore it)

Should this be a concern to me, ofc i want it to be stable since i'd like to play games and do my rendering on this pc.

any input?

its usually needs more voltage,

also to run IBT properly, you need to use custom ram

to run ibt properly. close down ALL running programs inc. antivirus, internet browsers, etc..

before running, open task manager and see the amount of 'free' ram under the performance tab.
for example i have 2550mb free ram so in IBT i enter a custom amount of 2500. (just below the free amount)
then i change the threads from auto to 4 (quad core), i have a quad core.
now every run i make i always get around 40-42 gflops. (consistent) (sorry glflops are a good indicator on how fast your cpu is running, i can get around 40gflops, but in a test if i was getting only 20 then the test is not running properly)

" I would choose 'free' memory as available memory will also make use of cache memory which must be storing data for other applications aswell. Windows may free up some physical memory from the cached memory during testing but not totally and i think the rest will be the virtual memory as a compensation.

Available = Free + (Cached - Modified)"

running just free memory will help you get higher gflops, as its just using free ram and not cached ram
this should also have 4 or 6 cores running at 100%"

look at Wingzero30's or Joeyjojo's posts

i'll leave the cpu voltage for now, i do think thats fine, i'll try adjusting the memory settings on ibt first, and yeah i do have a lot of processes still active on tm including AVG and anti spyware progs. If not i'll bump the cpu voltage up by one.

might as well download occt and give that an overnight shot as well.

- appreciate the help ty

Ahh just realised albeit bios settings my xms3 is only getting 1.54v usually needs 1.55-1.65v

*edit

nope you were right upped the voltage half a notch to 1.308 and presto! tyty
