hey dudes and dudettes... my parrot took flight this morning as my mum went into the garden and flew away :(

i was just wondering if anyone knew how good parrots are with sense of direction and what their survival rate is likely to be out there in the jungle of cats and foxes etc

not really expecting to see her again... just would feel better knowing she might actually live and be found by someone rather then meeting her doom.

on the off chance anyone in north london or near abouts spots a small green parrot with red on its wings/back could you please let me know by text or phone call... or even miss call me and ill call back 07883019700

il post pics when i find some clear pics of her.

thanks

My parrot flew away a while ago, it was up a tree near my house for about 2 days, then it just flew out of the tree, and we never saw it again :(

sorry to hear that dude. we thought our parrot was across the road on a tree... turns out it was just a bird that looked alike :(

Chances are not all that high if it doesnt come back within 24 hours.
thats what im afraid off

Unlucky mate
:(

Id search all trees near you, maybe from suck luck - its up there? And maybe call/try get someone to get the parrot down for you, sorry to hear that dude :(

They're pretty clever birds... It's not just going to be walking around on the ground waiting for some cats to have a pop at it. It's going to be sitting high in a tree somewhere. Probably having a whale of a time :) Unlucky, but have positive thoughts mate :)

I don't think you'll see it again... Sorry, man.

The same thing happened to me a while back, except we let that one go free (this wasn't in England, btw). But when I was very young (4-6 or somewhere around that age), I had a parrot that flew around outside my house, we let it do that, and it always returned to its cage. :)

P.S. Neither of those were in England.

The gf just said that her m8s parrot flew away and it turned up in the neighbours garden a week later so u never know :)

Don't put your phone number down. I've just signed u upto innappropriate dating agencies. I couldn't help it :(

Sorry to hear that soogs :(

The good news is it's not as cold as it was, so the weather hopefully won't be too unkind to it.

I would suggest (if you haven't already), letting the local vets/petshops and police know in case someone sees it, or catches it and reports it, also let the neighbours know as it could well end up appearing in a neighbours garden.

You never know. We used to have a citron crested cockatoo and it flew out of the cage when I went to feed it, and we found it the next day perched in some trees. She happily flew back :)

We had a parrot in our garden, it had been mising for two weeks, and apart form looking abit shabby it was still fine, although when the owners arrived, it flew off!

Good Luck hope you find it!

My grandma found a parrot in her balcony and managed to capture him and give him to my mum, so chances are someone finds him and keeps him, just think that he's gonna be fine :)

I suppose my post does rank up there with lots of other useless stuff in the world :)

My mate has budgies and he has to keep his window closed. One time they escaped briefly, but they flew back when he put their seed on his window sill. I don't know if that will help you? :)

no worries dude, we've put some of her posesions out in the garden along with some of her food hoping she might see it if shes flying by

I feel sorry for you :(

We had a parrot, and they are so cool and you get to know them (as such).
We had to give ours away as we didnt have the time for it anymore, but none the less we still cared for him.

Best of luck mate.
