My parrot just flew away

I don't believe birds should be caged anyway but sorry to hear about your loss.

Be cool if you could tag it with say GPS transceiver and track its movement.

Wait, you think it's not right that birds are caged but you are ok with them having gps trackers? :p

One of our cockatiels went missing for a couple of days but returned safe and sound. I had to throw a big sheet over it to catch it though. I suggest when it comes back that you clip one wing if you think there is a possibility that this may happen again.

I am sorry that you have lost your pet. I am also afraid that I doubt a parrot is able to last long in the wild, it is just too cold and there are too many competing animals out there. Although parrots are highly intelligent a caged bird doesn't have the so called 'street smarts' to survive very long.

I do not agree with keeping birds, they have wings for a reason, they have the priviledge of flight and should be given the right to do so.

That said I have no doubt that your parrot is cherished and important to you, I really hope you find it soon. :(

sorry to hear that m8, hope he finds his way back to you

please don't take offence though, but surely i can't be the only one that laughed at the title.
sorry m8

I had a parrot long time ago and it also flew away. It had only just grown its feathers, so it was very young.

It was never to be seen again. I was 11 yrs old and was heartbroken.

I hope yours comes back.

Birds aren't meant to be caged. I don't mean to make you feel bad but at least it's free now.

On the other hand, I do hope you find it or it comes back because it's unlikely to survive on it's own, but you never know...

I saw a green parrot sitting in a tree on Friday as I was going in to work on the train, weird. That was SW London though and a day early. Good luck finding him though.

sorry to hear so many people have lost their pet too :(

i also agree that birds shouldnt be caged but id much rather that bird have a loving home then to sit in a cage in a pet shop :)

our parrot wasnt caged anyway... she only slept in the cage if she had been miss behaving.

didnt get much sleep last night... kept thinking i heard her but it turned out it was crows lol
