That has the overclockable ivybridge i5K. I used a better but cheaper GPU with the mind to put the saving back into the CPU so you can overclock and get more from the system.

The GPU is B grade but is dirt cheap and already overclocked. I overclocked mine to 900mhz, you'll get 850mhz esay and that's nigh on to 6870 performance. You also get cuda support and HBAO and SSAO lighting effects with nvidia.

If you want the "flash" RAM fair enough. THe colour does clash in my spec but it's the cheapest way to get 8GB of RAM.

I love the Z9 budget case. 4 120mm fans, fan controller and temp display with cable management. a lot of features for the price and the extra fans are going to help you keep that CPU cool when you overclock on the stock heatsink.

DVD drive is cheaper and faster than your choice.

hi all
well thanks for your views and options
i see you all say go for the i5 3570k but i dont plan on overclocking and for the extra £34 it will cost to go to upgrade to the 3570 i dont think its worth it

i have changed my dvd writer for the LG - GH22NS90

i also dont want to buy anything "B" grade just because its not a massive saveing and it dosent come with a full 1 year guarentee.

my main pc use is ebay buying and selling and editing pictures.but i would like to play diablo 3, i watch a lot of films but thats about it.

i picked the quad core just so it would last me longer and be more future proof.

You can knock me for the B grade but atleast my cpu has a heatsink ;)

The main feature of the Z77 is that it can overclock, so we do try to work in an overclockable CPU when we can. 4ghz should be easily attainable on my build with the stock heatsink, you merely up the ratio to 40 in the bios and you're done. Yes the CPU is more but that is why I said i went B grade to help save money for the better CPU. If you don't want to buy B grade that is fair enough.

How about omitting the GPU for now and using the intel IGP? The highend nvidia 600 series GPU is out, we are waiting on the midrange cards. If you wait for Diablo 3s release there might be a better selection of GPUs to choose from or atleast get what we are suggesting now much cheaper then.

just saying, but £80 isnt exactly dirt cheap
but i know what u mean

what if i went to the sandybridge i5 2500k ? its a bit more than i5 ivybridge 3450 that ive picked but its the unlocked k series... whats your advise on that ider

The card was £130ish the other week not £107 so in my eyes £80 is a good price. It's a different model to the f.t.w edition they are selling "retail", it has 256 bit VRAM. I own one myself and they are a very very good budget card. I can understand your worry over the warranty though.

I would still favour the 460 f.t.w over an AMD 6850. Nvidia has HBAO occlusion lighting and SSAO. I imagine diablo 3 will be bias towards nvidia and will make good use of the HBAO shadow effects.

Your main uses will be covered by the IGP so there is no rush to get a dedicated GPU.

*EDIT*

The ivybridge CPU uses less power to run, has a much better IGP and is clocked slightly higher. Unless the SB i5K was a lot cheaper i would still favour the IB CPU myself

It's so easy and risk free to overclock that you would be silly not to. After all, you're on a forum called 'Overclockers UK'. :p
