My Phanteks case fan has started to fail! Spec me the quietest 140mm fans?

Necro I know, but another Phanteks fan has developed the noise problem the OP has. I bought 2 X 120MP and 2 X 140MP (for 2 builds). So for me, it's 1 X120 and 1X140 with the issue :(

Oddly, I bought them exactly 1 year ago, 1st Feb 2020.

Every case or CPU fan I've owned has started to emit noise from the bearings, sooner or later. (Sometimes a lot later of course, like 8 years, but often only 3-4).

I'm using the Corsair ML series now - hopefully maglev technology and no bearings should mean the end of that problem. I've had nine of these:

running for coming up to four years now, no noise from them yet. They certainly need to be tamed by running at fairly low RPM though, they go up to 2000 RPM which is just crazy loud. I have them about 500 RPM when my PC is idle, that's inaudible from where I sit.

Budget no issue - Be Quiet Silent Wings 3, engineered for the best compromise between noise and performance.
Best Fanboy option - Noctua, they make the best fans full stop :p

Cheers for the recommendations mate. I just ordered 3x Silent Wings 3 High Speed for my case (2 intake 1 outtake) to replace my Pure Wings. I may move the Pure Wings to the top as exhaust.

Also order a Noctua NF-F12 for my heatsink. :)

Jus to update this old thread. Out of 2 X Phanteks PH-F140MP PWM 140mm Fan & 2 X Phanteks PH-F120MP PWM 120mm Fan, 2 of the 120mm, and 1 of the 140mm fans have issues.

Ended up replacing them with Noctua AF-14 whilst I look into the warranty for them.

It could be the fact I was running them at 40-50% PWM, they were all fine for around a year to 18 months, but eventually they developed an annoying clicking/rattle sound. Just an FYI for anyone who was thinking of buying them.
