I know I can't really advertise but just wanted to share my photo booth.

I got married last July and after seeing a huge Photo Booth at a Cheshire wedding fayre I decided I needed one for my wedding.

After a few months of research and ordering parts the build began. It was incredibly hard as people with photobooths don't like giving their materials, tips and secrets away. a lot of it was trial and error but we got there in the end. I decided to go down the standalone route which ultimately resulted in more issues but was worth it in the end as it takes up less space at a venue.

The response to it was amazing! I took it to my first wedding fayre a couple of weeks ago in Staffordshire and have since taken 5 bookings for weddings this year and have 2 pending confirmation.

Heres a couple of pics, I have a website and everything but probably not allowed to show that on here.

Here is a couple of shots from the booth.

The red curtain was from my wedding where I seemed to have a bit of light reflecting into the lens on my camera from the flash. I've since sorted that out though.

So have any of you used Photo Booths at weddings and parties? Anybody got one? Personally I think they are great fun, we provide prop boxes for the guests to muck about in. What do you think of them?

Can't see them having a massive life span so trying to hit the wedding fayre seasons this year while there is only one other booth to compete with in my county.

It's a little addictive to be honest, I'm already planning a mark 2, probably finished in a wood look or gloss black :)

Seen quite a few in weddings I've shot and they are fun. Some are like the booth you get for your passport, with adjustable seat inside and all. The props makes the booth more than the booth itself.

The best ones will dispense 2 copy of the same photo, strip of 4, one for the person in the booth to keep, and the other they are asked to stick in a book the B&G have left near the booth for the guest to stick in and write a message. It combines the guest book to this and makes it fun.

Yep that's exactly what I offer raymond. Instant prints, two strips of 6"x 2" each with 4 photos on. We supply a guest book for the booth with glue and pens and the Bride & Groom get to take the book home along with a CD of all the images.

I know they passport style you are talking about. I just wanted something that would have a much smaller footprint as the sit down ones require around 3m x 2m.

I designed mine so that the curtain could be detached. I'm currently trying to work out how to have just a stand alone back drop and the side of the booth open. This will allow the hard background to be customised for corporate events etc.

However, its proving a little difficult coming up with something that isn't huge yet can't be knocked over easily!

We used a Fuji Instax and a box of props at ours for proper retro fun, considered the booth approach but as we are probably the last generation that will have polaroid photos form part of our child hood and remembering the excitment that they always induced it had to be done!

Damn I loved those polaroid's!
Never had one, but remember getting my picture taken at the circus and being handed a blank photo. Watching the picture come from nowhere was like magic.

It was a real hit at our wedding, everyone my age has a memory that includes a polaroid camera and the way it instantly had everyone talking, messing about and excited was really funny to watch. We got some fun photos for very little cost, the camera I resold for what I paid for it the fancy dress was from pound shops and the like so it was pretty much just the film. We left a pile of postcards next to the camera for people to write us messages on and these have been put in an album with the polaroids to form a guest book.
