My Pictures oddness

for some time now, windows has been refusing to display the filenames of all files in the base My Pictures Directory when in Thumbnail view.

ordinarily, this wouldn't be much of a problem, but i use graphics quite a lot, and its timeconsuming having to hover over many versions of the same file to find the one that i need to open.

anyway, i'm on XP pro SP1 (not service pack two)
and i have AVG free antivirus *spits at norton rubbish*

select the "My Pictures" file, hold down shift and double click the file. Make sure you dont do a 'multiple select' when double clicking. Or just press enter on the keyboard while holding shift.
