came down stairs this mornin to find him screaming at the door, he dragged himself in and colapsed at the door, wouldnt let me touch him but he ate and drank.

took him to vet and they say he broke his femur, hes got to stay in over nite :(

we think he was hit by a car, he must have draged himself some way as the road is about 100ft from the back door, its amazing how he got himself home.

cant believe who ever hit him just drove off

vets gonna get back to us after dinner with xray results.

Sorry to hear that bud. I've had that happen to too many cats now and it makes me think again about getting another one.

Sorry to hear that, but as has been said over here in motors, cats do these things. Also a lot of people don't care that much for cats, so wouldn't be too fussed about it.

Brilliant kitty for dragging himself home for help though. :)

its not the endangering your life to avoid it thing, but if u know u have hit it you should take it to a vet and not just leave it to try and get home or die.

So sorry to hear about that, keeps us posted on how it goes.
I cant believe some-one can hit a cat and carry on driving. Its Illegal to hit a dog and carry on driving, it makes my blood boil when some idiotic people walk their dog beside a road without a lead:mad:

Good to hear kitty will be ok.
One of ours was hit by a car some years ago. Friction with the tyre tore all the skin off the back leg in question from hip to toe (turned it inside out just like a sock), she had to have the leg removed as grafting the skin back on had a good chance of failure.
We called her 'tripod' after that. :)

Cats are remarkably resilient creatures, despite the best efforts of some humans. :(

Sorry to hear about your cat but they do recover remarkably well, we ran over our own cat (don't ask) when it was only a few weeks old and we where in a RAV 4, it was running around with its leg in plaster in a few days.

I have a cute image in my head now...

my cat's got 3 legs too. still. its no real problem for her, she gets around and causes trouble just fine lol

With all due respect even if the driver had stopped what would you expect him to do? I saw a cat ran over once and pulled over ( No im not a fan of cat's ) I rang the RSPCA, council and the police (local station) Nobody was bothered, infact the police officer said leave it where you found it!.

With your back door being over 100feet away the driver wouldnt of found your address unless you live in the outback and yours is the only house within a 80 mile radius! Maybe you will be more careful when you let it out in future.

(Not aimed at you) One thing I dont understand about most cat owners. They keep it indoors as a cute kitten and it gets kicked out when its older and most / all dont care what happens to them!
