the pins stick out a lot, wasnt expecting any when they said they were puting a plate in. was a shock at first

he walks a little funny from the weight of them but he can use his leg a little.

poor thing

happened to my sisters cat a few months ago, i'm more of a dog person but it's still awful to see them in pain, pretty big cat you've got, hope it gets well soon :)

just a little update,

been goin weekly for bandage changes, he had his stiches out this week which he wasnt too keen on.

but he is using his leg really good and is running a little, he can jump on the couch and bed too.

got to keep goin back every week and will be having another xray in january and hopefully the pins removed :)

Hope he makes a full recovery :).

One of my cats almost died a few years back from cat flu - I remember the family going to see her in isolation as if we were seeing a human in hospital.

We even brought her presents and had a good chat.

I'd be devestated if I lost my cats!

I hope your cat recovers soon. He is the spitting image of our cat that died last week. Our cat had whats called an Aortic Saddle Thrombosus, its where a blood clot forms in the heart and gets stuck in the main artery that feeds the femoral arteries which feed the back legs. He was fine when my partner went to bed at 1am, when i came in from work at 7am his back legs were paralised and he could only drag himself around by his front legs. We took him to the vets immediately but he had to be put to sleep as there was very little hope he would ever walk again even if they managed to remove the blood clot and gave him every drug they could.
