Yeah, i just wanted some nice pictures of my PC, Spent a lot of time building it and i really like it so wanted to show it off...
My product photography sucks...

Think context and atmospheric.
Think how it looks in the room, think lighting, either internal LED or external spot lights.
A piece of thin object on the table is not going to make nice pictures.

Ok, so perhaps i need to look at things differently and think how and what i want to show off...
Don't give up heh - bit more work on angles and the focus/what the primary subject is of the image and they'd work.
i.e. the first image centre up the subject a bit more, pull back a little to get more of the rest of what its connected to and throw a bit of rule of thirds in there and it would be a great shot. The DoF would be good spread over the whole backplate but too intimate that close up.
As someone who has failed miserably to get some good images of the headphone amp I've been building (partly due to not having proper photography equipment) I'm aware its far easier to be critical than produce good product images heh.

Thanks for the feedback, i have a few days off so will try again with better lighting and hopefully be able to get the shot i want lol!
Product photography is a pain in the ass. But stick with it.
The thing for me it depends what the items are. If its a home style item photograph it in its environment but done draw attention away. Computer parts are a pain as they look clean then on the photo there far from it. Sometimes adding an angle is good but has look like to meant it to be there. It takes practice and getting an eye for it.
Use a tripod and a flash. Have a good variation of sharp lenses, I normally use a 50mm and a 70-200 f4 IS. If using a flash try not to let it bounce off the item like a mirror.

Don't you mean too little depth of field?

No, it was on a tripod, but i think it may have something to do with the wobbly floorboards in my house. will try it again with a lower shutter speed and in a better location with better lighting.
