Hi all, I have been out of the PC loop for a little while, my last build was some time ago and it was based around a 3930k. I am now looking to build myself a new rig, mainly for heavy video editing, VFX and maybe the odd game. I have done a bit of reading up and I have come up with the below specs but I would appreciate it if someone could take a quick look over it and advise of any changes I should look to make.

CPU - i9 7900x
MB - ASUS WS X299 Pro
RAM - Corsair Vengeance 32GB/64GB 3600 MHz DDR4 Quad Channel
GPU - Nvidia GTX 1080 Ti
SSD - Not sure, open to suggestions as not sure what M2 is about.
PSU - Corsair HX1000
Case - Coolermaster C700p (probably water cool once I’m bitten by the bug again)
Windows 10 Pro

I have a keyboard, mouse and monitor from an old system I will use.

Any suggestions on improvements happily received

TIA

nvme can have its advantages in workstation bound tasks - for gaming nothing brought to the table.

if your finding your having to import lots of videos for editing and then saving as you go long and finally exporting - repeated over and over they do have advantage of speed over traditional Sata 3 SSDs .

load up for videos and material to nvme drive, complete the work and then move the finished article and media back to storage drive
