Yesterday in work 2 guys were telling me about how difficult their day was due to various reason.
After they told me about how they struggled to finish their work package, I replied.

" its as hard as you make it, and as easy as you want it "

For a few seconds they look at each other, then they both agreed that was a very good way to look at it, LOL then on the way out of work they were both talking about what I said ! :D

Is it a good quote or not ?

It could work if you tied it in with another great maxim I heard here: "stand and bang".

Maybe you could merge them to something like:

Men who want to stand and bang will be as hard as they make it, and they'll be as easy as they want to be.

We all liked it anyway, brought them a smile at the end of their bad ass day
Me on the other hand, I always have a good day in work as I use that theory.

Or management consulting - he could make a fortune expousing meaningless drivel like that

This.

See also "Don't wish it were easier. Wish you were BETTER."

Makes me wonder how many eejits at the gym are staring at that poster their whole workout thinking "YEEEAAHH! YYYYEEEEEEAAAAHHHH!"

worst i made my work mates have gay sex thread ever

on a more serious note, i think it holds true on a lot of things. Mind over matter.

'A stitch in time saves nine'

For about ten years I was thinking how on earth do you stitch time, and save 9 what?!

I can't be alone :o

Doesn't make sense, if hard work is hard, it's not going to be easier by wanting it to be.....

But then, without knowing what the work actually is, it's difficult to input a suitable opinion.

The other day everyone in my class was banging on about how its only 9 weeks til exams. I made them feel better when I said "or, if you want, about a fifth of a year".

I'm just about to google it but my understanding has always been "do it now, before it gets worse"
A stitch on a small tear will prevent it becoming a large tear and needing more.

I'm expecting that to be complete buncombe, but it makes sense to me.

post-google edit: this would suggest I'm correct http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/a-stitch-in-time.html
