My radiator fans are (not) coming on....

Just tried to see if i could help out with this by looking at my car (Octavia VRS MKII so same engine) as i remembered this thread and was curious. I looked under the bonnet when i got to work this morning and just the small fan was spinning.

I had another look when i got back from work and both fans were spinning (but it was about 22 degrees by then and i had been travelling for 30 mins ish)

If i remember il try to see if i can catch it without the small fan on but with the air con on as im sure i have seen this before (maybe..).

Park up after a drive and leave the car idling. If they come on after a few minutes and cycle on/off or low/high they are working. If they don't the engine overheats ;p

On my Vectra the fans only come one once a certain pressure is reached when the A/C is on, around 11bar I think then shutdow, around 2 bar differential.

Clean the fuse and the contacts on the fusebox. Mine got dirty enough to stop the fans working completely. A quick spray with contact cleaner and they started working again.
