My Renovation project

I like most of it, all looks to be of a high standard too, but 3 things I'm not keen on:

The fireplace looks a little flimsy for my liking, prefer bigger surrounds, fire itself is very nice though.

Preferred the front garden over the gravel, and the back is now far too exposed with the tree's removed.

I don't think the living room would take a larger fireplace. Its not the biggest of rooms and the worry would be that it would overpower or intrude on the room too much.

The rear garden: We agonised over it a fair amount. But after the rear neighbours asked us whether we would be chopping the trees down as they didn't get any sun we decided to clear it.

There was a particularly large tree to the left that cut out nearly all the light to the back garden AND the decking area which would have spoilt the overall feel.

It was a kinda all or nothing deal. The bottom of the garden needed 2 feet removing from the bottom as it had all sorts of junk dumped there which over the years had grown into a small "hill". I think all in all about 3 skips worth got removed from the garden NOT including trees

Looks like a great job especially as it was done for sale for profit as you always need to keep an eye on the bottom line!

One thing I did notice is that you removed all the picture rail downstairs which is something I would have never done it's original character that you can't buy anymore as the choice of mouldings available these days is terrible.

I agree with those who've said they hate to see a front garden turned into parking but it's the times we live in and will almost certainly make the place easier to shift. People love off street parking.

Reminds me a lot of our place when we got it horrible 30's fireplaces and all!

Awesome job mate. A vast improvement carried out to a high standard.

What programs did you use to make those floors plans?

Floorplans were done by the estate agent

Picture rails I was gutted about to be honest. They were wrecked in places and would have cost a fair bit to match.

That's a shame, always the killer with Victorian mouldings! We had some 12" skirting made to match our living room after a damp issue and it wasn't something you'd want to be spending on if you were doing the work for sale!

Agreed here, I especially way prefer the original front garden compared to the desert that is there now. the first thing I would be doing in such a house is putting the front garden back to what is was and increase the kurb appeal.

The back garden, although a mess before, is now also horribly exposed and dull and more desirable than the original IMO.
