My RX9070 Gigabyte appears to be slightly bent

Hello!
My RX9070 that I purchased from overclockers arrived Monday and when installing it I’ve placed it backplate down on my kitchen counter and the card wobbles and appears not be straight. Now the card is working fine but what worries me is when I install it in my pc there is a difference of about 1cm between two ends of the card and I can see it’s not entirely level. The card isn’t big or very heavy and it is seated solid in the slot, no movement or anything. Is there anything to be worried about? Could there be any damage from that in the long run? I’m worried that if something does happen to the card and when I send it back for rma it will be rejected and I will be told that I done that.

thought this was going to be a bit of a silly post but it does indeed look like it droops off to the right.

I'm not sure if it's the angle of the picture or my old eyes but even the heat pipes/sink looks like its bent on the right side.

To be honest you should be using a GPU support bracket with any GPU now adays if you want them to last, they are just too heavy.

You can’t really tell much from the picture but in person is much more noticeable.

Looks fine, my old 4070 Ti Super looked like this, the big heat-sinks can make the card appear slightly warped, but are completely fine. Definitely worth getting a support bracket though, can pick them up for a few pounds.

The thing is, the card sits there like a rock. If I add support I will be bending it back sort of. When I place it backplate down on level surface I can see it isn’t straight. I know manufacturers have some tolerance but not sure if this is right.

either get a ruler or it you have a small spirit level and place on the top , take a pic showing the card moving away from the ruler/spirit level and email the shop you bought it from asking if this normal...you'll have photographic evidence with a timestamp(if you do on your phoneand show it), and also you'll have your time of delivery, so they'll know it's not done 'down the line'
if the card fits in the gpu slot perfectly though, it means the pcb layer that the gpu wafer is on etc is completely straight and not warped, otherwise you'd struggle to seat it properly

do as craig_d1 suggested, put a straight edge on the backplate and if possible shine a light behind it and photo/film so you can see the light leak if bent. If it is I'd RMA as if you decide to sell in the future it will impact the resale value.

Because the cooler is thinner at the io side is it possible that it creates a sort of illusion that it looks worse than it is? Would definitely support a GPU of this size with a bracket, to take pressure of the pci socket, just rest it up against it.

oh oh i wasnt using one on my old saphhire pulse 5700 and either is dad that has it and im not using one on my saphhire pulse 7800xt which is only a wee bit longer, i thought they brackets were only for the longer big boy cards :(

yeh the weight is heavy we have anti sag brackets that came with our cases, gonna start using them :)

So I’ve took the card out and started measuring and testing and yes seems like whole pcb is shaped like a banana. Even the PCIe connector isn’t straight, please see the videos. Please excuse my loud breathing and dust on the desk.
That explains why it’s such a snug fit and much harder to plug it in and take it out of the PCIe slot.
