Having spent a day or so looking for my Shuffle, it eventually turned up in my trouser pocket. And they were in the tumble dryer.

Full wash at 40 oC and 1600 RPM Spin + 80 mins in a tumble dryer on high heat and it still works! The battery needed charging but that was all.

Amazing. :D

Wow... and who says Apple stuff isn't worth it? :p
Most people's iPod dies after they washed it as they turn it on and short circuit the player, the tumble dry must have accelerated the drying out process...

Most portable electronics would survive it.

I guess so - though I was probably lucky the battery had run completely flat. Had I switched it on upon right away (I didn't charge it for a few days) it might have shorted out if there'd been any residual moisture on the pcb. Granted - unlikey after 80 mins in a tumble dryer!

Anyway - I wouldn't recommend it :p

I am surprised at how durable a lot of things are.
My 30Gb Video survived being dropped, bent, damaged and chocolate milkshaked, which i then washed clean under the tap as it wasnt working.
My lasses 8gb nano got attacked by a strawberry mullerice, which worked after a scraped the corrosion off the bottom connector.
I alse have a small Sony Prtable radio (Tiny) that was survived being washed while still turned on more than once (I knew it was in the washing machine as i could hear it when i took my clothes out!). It also survived a dig in an oil container, then also in a solvent bath, and it still works spot on. Ive had it for about 7 years now.
