My Ski Holiday in Canada (loads of pics)

Fantastic place, somewhere i'd definitely go back to. Loved Whistler, albeit a little expensive, mainly due to the world snowboarding championships being on while we were there.

Great skiing/boarding.

Loved Banff, Loved Lake Louise, Loved Sunshine, Loved Jasper.

Generally awesome holidays. One of my sisters photos after living out there for a year.

Big skiing nancy, snowboardings the way to go ;)

Bah, reminding me too much of my Xmas hols boarding :( now all we have is rain back home. Still, its an expensive hobby, eating into my PC cash, but well worth it :)

Just got back from Canada last week. Skied in Mont Saint Anne, near Quebec for a few days. I'm already planning next years trip and Whistler is on the shortlist.

I've also just purchased my first set of skis from Nevisport. I wasn't really planning on buying skis but they were cheap (Salomon Scrambler 8 & bindings @ £220) and beginning to sell out.

Wow, that looks awesome!

For some my reason my parents never fancied the idea of skiiing so I've never been. Always fancied a trip myself though :) Maybe one day...

Whilster-Blackcomb kicks arse!

I was there for the last week in Jan. :)

A huge snow dump then then. Please say you did the small hike over to blackcomb glacier. the first time we did it, it was fresh powder. The real hardcore hiked up around the top of the glacier (taking about 30minutes) and ski'd down the almost vertical drops around the top.

Thought it was Whistler from the photos, then I saw Blackcomb glacier on the sign :p Brilliant place, makes me very jealous. The skiing is awesome, nothing that I've come across really compares. The only thing more fun than the Whistler Bowl or the Harmony Horseshoes was skiing in knee deep powder in Alpe D'Huez this new year. What a place, looks like you had great snow too.

As I was learning snowboarding and so took it fairly easy and I didn't make the glacier unfortunately. Next time. :(

The lads have been talking about our next ski trip and all sorts of destinations, we all want to go back to Whistler though. :)

Cool

I was in Whistler myself from the 4th to 19th. You didn't happen to see a bunch of people all wearing bright orange hats did you? That was us.

It truly is an amazing place. The runs on both mountains are fantastic and you really can't beat the Canadians for friendliness and hospitality.

Git, git, git, git, git......... i believe you get the message!

Really want to get out to whistler, but the limitations of a student budget have knocked that out until I graduate and get a proper job :(

Until then its France (in two weeks :D )

I cannot express my jealously adequately by typing. I hate you. :p

That looks so awesome. Ive a friend here who has a Canadian passport, so goes over quite regular, so im saving up as best I can while being a student so I can go hit the slopes.

I dream of moving to BC sometime. Whistler has all I want, mountain biking in summer, snowboarding in winter. Awesome!

^ i didnt think about that at the time. I was just trying to not let the gale force winds blow me over the edge. That was one of the days when it was -16, i couldnt feel my fingers. (but yes, it was indeed extreme) I landed about a 3 foot drop onto an almost vertical slope, with a bit of a wobble i may add :)
