Modular PSU to help with the building and cable management, complete case with window (the shinobi core is missing the metal mesh strips and logo as the shinobi core is aimed at people who want to buy thier own, also it is more expensive, and quite bland, plus you wont be able to see the goodies!) cheaper motherboard with same feature set (if there is a reason for the other board being recommended, let me know) SSD for caching the HDD or for installing the OS to, will greatly reduce start up time/lag, will result in applications loading quicker, and improve overall responsiveness ten-fold.

If you are feeling mean, nick the 650W PSU from your Son's PC and buy a 450W or something to put in there as his PC will need less power than yours. Will save some money.

Also there is no OCZ ZX 650W, they start at 850W, so it must be a ZT 650W. Which is still a good PSU.

Sad truth is that kills the more expensive PC he bought his son.

Not impressed at all, seems a way to shift FX CPU's.

After reading the great help given so far, it looks like the best thing for my sons PC is the HD 7850 IceQ X.
As far as the pc I want to buy myself against the cost of my sons, there is no real difference as his was £700.19 inc. vat and as a dad I think it's best I have a better machine for bragging rights because he is a cocky little 17yr old (but a good kid) :)

Well the days of me beating him at fps games are well and truly gone (I consider myself a pretty decent gamer but he is in another league), so this is the only thing I can have over him :).

His machine will cost 850 as he needs the GPU.
