Beautiful; simply beautiful.

that's a beautiful looking guitar dude. hope it's everything you want it to be.

looking forward to some recordings :)

Aye the Carved Top design was original introduced when John Suhr was asked by Mark Knopfler to build him a guitar, at the time the company went under the Pensa-Suhr name, it's now (obviously) a body style they manufacture to the public.

Very nice mate ;) Just make sure you get some insurance on it before any members here find your address :p

Rofl! Aye I've already got a quote sorted out with the company I use :)

Update! The guitar arrived today, first, the pics:

Finally a shot better representing the actual colour in person:

I'm ecstatic to say the least, not only does it look fantastic, but I'm so glad that it actually feels right in my hands. As I've specced out everything myself - neck profile, fingerboard radius, nut width, bridge, woods etc I was a little unconfident that it was going to be exactly what I wanted (as this is the first custom I've had) but it has that magical 'mojo' that my Ibanez has, I can pick it up and play things I can't on other guitars.

I would type more but I'm off to play :D Soundclips will follow when I get back to my Uni house (at home atm recovering from an operation).

That's a gorgeous, gorgeous guitar.

In your OP you keep saying MahoGAY, I lolled

lmao really? I've posted this on 9 guitar forums I frequent so I was getting a little bit tired of typing the same thing over and over :D They're not going to edit, I'm proud of my typos damnit!

Thanks for the comments!

GOD LIKE.

I want :(

What does it sound like?

Haha, holy ****. :)

As I mentioned on MSN - I only have my teaching rig here at the moment, my JSX and Cornford are at my Uni house, but the pickups are a nice blend of vintage and modern, they sound great overdriven yet articulate and clear, the switching is also VERY nice, I actually prefer the 2 inner coils the most at the moment.

When I get back to my proper setup I'm gonna record some clips as I have a new mic to test out too.

That looks incredible!

Hope it sounds as good as it looks. What kind of stuff will you be playing on it?
Influences?

Now go! Play! Be gone!

Hehe I'm jamming my bum off as we speak.

Favourite bands: oceansize, tool, porcupine tree, sikth, players: guthrie govan, gregg howe, jeff beck.

Yum yum yum yum yum. I hope it was all you hoped for, and them some. That certainly looks to be the case. :D

grats mate thats a beauty, nothing like a spanking new plank to play eheh

off topic slightly but your old Jem , why did you get rid ? ive never played one but wouldnt cry if one of them or the 20th walked into my life ..

i wish i could play......i've had a nice guitar sat here for

I got rid because I realised it wasn't the guitar for me, in terms of features and cosmetics. I didn't like the over the top looks in the end (such as the inlay, gold and white combination) and I also don't like double locking trems. There was just something about the feel of the fixed bridge/arch top my Ibanez RGA has which i got shortly after the Jem that swayed me away from that style of guitar, my Suhr is similar to my RGA but in a whole different league, so I think I made the right choice :)

I also think Jems are hideously overpriced, they're basically Prestige RGs with different pickups, cosmetics and less wood (monkey grip and lions claw) but for vastly more. And don't even get me started on the Jem20th :D Before getting the Jem I wanted one like -mad- and see people on Jemsite every day saying how much they want one, it's quite funny/sad how often people find that after owning a guitar they've wanted so much it ends up not being quite what they want.

That last pic really captures the depth of the finish. I take it you're still thinking about the swap idea?...

:p

Exactly why I'm waiting until I can afford severals guitar before going anywhere near a floating trem.

I want one to have fun with but I know I'll get bored fairly quickly. Having one as a main guitar seems mad.
