My top paid applications

My top paid apps for everyday use, after big bucks professional apps such as HighDesign and Curio, are Acorn for image editing and graphical stuff and another excellent app by Flyingmeat, VoodooPad. It should be illegal to use a mac without those last two. :) There is a VPlite for the cheapskates so there is no excuse not to get it. A seriously good notepad/personal wiki.

EDIT: How could I forget Omnigraffle - it makes Visio look retarded.

One dock item, as many applications within it, categorized how you see fit.

Has anyone got QuickTime Pro? Look at buying that as it's not overly expensive and seems to do what other apps do all in one.

Yeah I bought QTP to convert some video into a different format a while back and it was perfect. With Perian as well it's a brilliant solution.

That xSlimmer looks good. I'm a bit of a speedfreak, so don't like unnecessary slowdowns. It's one of the reasons I nuked NeoOffice. It took too long to start up and open files.

BTW Neoni...It's Editors not Editers :D

Sure there's lots of other threads like this one but...:

Omnigraffle makes Visio look like the buggy piece of garbage that it is. Absolutely amazing diagramming tool the likes of which i've not seen on any platform.

Voodoopad. Very, very useful for pretty much everything, in my case research and general management of information. Basically a kinda local blog that allows you to add pretty much anything to it, pdf's, images, etc...

Not for network diagrams it doesn't, I'd dearly love to ditch visio as it's just about all that keeps me using windows on at least one machine, but omnigraffle is pretty useless for complex network diagrams...

bigredshark, try emailing your criticism to The Omni Group and see what they think :p

I've used OmniGraffle myself for my University dissertation and luckily I didn't have to purchase it since the trial was long enough for me. However, if I do need to use it again then I may consider purchasing it since it's an excellent alternative to Microsoft Visio for Mac OS X.

I could I guess, I guess much of it may be the stencils available but I find visio much more powerful, not just in terms of being able to draw complex diagrams easily but for rack diagrams all the components click together much easier in visio. Don't get me wrong, it might be powerful but it's a memory hog and I hate that I still need a windows machine at home almost solely to run it, if I could find something as good then I would use it...

Kinda thought the exact opposite to be honest. I've only used it for uml, state charts, class diagrams and flow charts but the way components line up exactly where i want them made me realise how terrible visio is at alignment.
