After driving a 1.8 Focus for the last 8 years I finally figured it was time to splash a bit of cash and treat myself to something a little better.
My requirements were something that was decently quick and that would be equally at home hooning around country lanes as cruising effortlessly on the motorway.
So, this is what I ended up with...
It's a 56 reg with a manual gearbox (as you can probably tell from the pictures!) in Montego Blue.
The main things That I wanted were the professional navigation and leather, both of which it has and a few other bits and bobs besides.
I've got to say I wasn't 100% convinced about the colour combination when I saw it on Autotrader. I'd previously been looking at the black and silver interior combination, but it looks 10 times better in the flesh and really compliments the blue exterior IMO.
I'm currently up in Manchester at my parents' place (hence the rain affected photos
) and the first proper drive I had of it was the journey up here.
I took the M40 up to Birmingham and then did some A and B roads from there. I averaged 35mpg on the motorway stretches, which I was pleasantly surprised with and, er, less than that on the other bits!!
Very pleased with it so far anyway, it's certainly a step up and it's going to take a bit of getting used to just how capable the car is compared with what I was used to!
