Alright there,

I've got an extension on my RBS student account to get a nice new PC to sit nicely in my room. It's been designed for gaming, music and video entertainment and work believe it or not.

This is what I've come up with, around a £1000 budget.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Processor
Gigabyte GA P35C DS3R Motherboard
GeIL 2GB PC 6400 800MHz RAM
PowerColor ATI Radeon HD 2900 Pro 512Mb Graphics Card
Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi XtremeMusic 7.1 Sound Card
Creative Inspire T6100 5.1 Speakers
Sennheiser PC161 Pro-Gaming Headphones
Seagate Barracuda 250Gb 7200RPM 16MB Cache Sata 2 Hard Drive
NEC AD7170S Serial ATA DVD RW Optical Drive

Powered by a Corsair HX 520W ATX2.2 Modular PSU and cased in an Antec Nine Hundred Ultimate Gaming Case.

Combined with:

Samsung SM-920NW 19" Widescreen LCD Monitor
Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 Keyboard
Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0
SteelPad 4D Plastic Mouse Pad
Canon Pixma MP210 Multi-Function Printer/Scanner/Colour Copier

I think that rounds it off.

Is there any component that's got a better price/performance than what I've chosen or do you have any reccomendations for what I should change?.

Be as brutally honest as you can.

Cheers.

Yes all of that comes to £1,070.17

So that's quite a way over budget, but Im sure I can squeeze that a little more. Afterall this is a 0% interest free overdraft so you could think of it as cheap debt somewhat.

I've still got to buy myself some software such as F-Secure and Microsoft Ultimate 2007 which are both around £30-£40, so let's say £80.

Might I ask what the "Tuniq Tower" is?, I searched the cases section but I couldn't find it, so something is telling me it's not a case...

I'll take a look into the Q6600.

Cheers.

no idea how you got that price, I've just built a quad core 8800gtx system with a keyboard, mouse, and speakers, and a 22" screen for £950, and that was a month ago, so you can do better than that for your budget.

edit: just realised you've included a printer aswell.
