I'm running a 22" at 1680x1050 and I can pretty much play the vast majority of games at max minus the unnecessarily high AA and AF values.

However, that being said I'm biased due to the rest of my aging rig. Note that full blown dx11 in games such as Metro 2033 with tessellation and the like is a bit too much for the card. Still, an xfire should be quite powerful at that res. Your best bet is to check out the 5770 thread here, it's quite comprehensive.

Yea. Assuming I don't already have a PC...if I was given a single 5870 as a gift and have to spend my own money to build a PC, I would go for Phenom II X4 955BE build; but if I was given two 5870 or one 5970 one 5850/5870, I would spend the extra and go i7 920 build instead.
