My Vista Experience so far...

Ultimate x64 version here with system managed pagefile on C:/ drive is leaving just 4GB of a 19.5GB partition

c:/Windows folder alone is using 10.5GB of HDD :eek:

if thats any help to anyone

All i need to know is if Steam is supported, have decided to upgrade to Vista now while my entire steam folder is on my external HD.

it definitely worked for me on the rc versions. don't see why final should be any different.

Steam works fine although I couldnt copy my steam folder from my XP backup to Vista.
I had to re-install games and download all the games again.
Not sure why Vista wouldnt accept the XP install of Steam but it just crashed all the time and wouldnt run any of the games i had installed.
The new install works fine though.

Thanks, I just ordered my Home premium OEM today after my MB broke and I had to get a replacement.
I had just started reinstalling XP after a reformat and was using my floppy drive when it's sudden demise broke the MB.
Oh well, Vista should be very nice

I had to re-install games and download all the games again.

I used the backup function in steam on XP, then restored under Vista without problems. This is 32bit though.

As for Flip 3D, I think its totally pants. If you have LOADS of windows open you can barely see the ones at the back - ESPECIALLY if they are similar windows. Although can you imagine the uproar if they copied expose/compiz stuff.

Unfortunetely, I didn't used the backup function as my upgrade to vista is quite sudden (MB replacement).
However, I did copy all my files from steam to my external drive so I have proof that I have all the games in case Steam decides to cause trouble
