Just got my new setup running and gave some stick for the first time :)

Setup is
Yonah T2600 (stock 166 x 13 = 2.13Ghz)
Aopen i975 X a-YDG
2 GB Skill HZ 6400 4,5,4,12
Si-120 with 120mm 1400RPM fan

I'm absolutly delighted. Not quite 32M stable. one Mhz FSB down and she is.

Simon it's Peter Wright here...I know you somehow but for the love of god i have no idea how....too much beerhas blanked my memory on this.

3d mark scores are done.

These are at 3Ghz 231 x 13 with Ram at 4,5,4,12 385Mhz or DDR770 (cant get my head round ddr2 terminology)

3D 2001SE 42,603
Previous...
T2600 3.0Ghz 42,603 (Air) Thats a 6.4% increase on the FX60 on Air :)
FX60 3.3Ghz 40,761 (Freon)
FX60 3.0Ghz 40,019 (Air)

3D 2006 10,517
Previous...
T2600 3.0Ghz 10,517 (Air) Thats a 3.7% increase on the FX60 on Air
FX60 3.3Ghz 10,241 (Freon)
FX60 3.0Ghz 10,139 (Air)

The machine feels very quick generally and is rock stable. Will not go over 233Mhz FSB whatever settings i use... there are reports that this mobo gets to an FSB limit.

As this chip is only a 2MB L2 cache and Conroe / memron are 4MB, coupled with the fact the Yonah is missing a few features like 64Bit... I can confirm that I am happy to be back to intel and the future looks great

hmm was expecting more in 06 tbh. going from single to dual core A64 is a 1000+ points difference (20+%) but going from a A64 fx60 to yonah 3ghz is only 6%???

Dont forget that in 06 the vast majority of the score is based on GPU performance, not CPU.

I have discovered that the graphics clock a lot further on this board than they did on the R580's and therefore suspect that they are not getting pushed as much as they were in the FX60 benchmarks. I will do some more work on this and report.

Also remember this is Yonah not Memron or Conroe.... there will be better scores with those CPU's for sure.

Sorry to go OT mate, but I couldn't help but notice you have an Intel setup with DDR2 ram. I have a question over in the memory forum, but as yet, no light shone on the problem (if there is an actuall problem). You wouldn't mind having a quick read please? (I know it's a bit rude to just ask... but I have no idea!) :(

Oh... and nice score!
