So...seems it's a bit of a mess over there and I must admit I'm confused about the whole thing. To deny that the Rohingya are being oppressed, seems from all the evidence I can find, to be pretty stupid. However - the government seem to be doing sweet FA. A so-called Nobel prize winner hasn't lifted her finger.
On top of that we have an actual Muslim community being heavily oppressed and yet I don't see the usual islamists over there going nuts. There's no mass terror attacks. There's nothing apart from these poor people suffering.

What the actual Jeff is going on?

The UN takes years to get involved in this sort of thing and even then it'll only be condemnation of it. Probably won't really act unless it starts to spill over into neighbouring countries in terms of large numbers of refugees.

Meanwhile where is the UN?
UN have massive camps looking after the refugees.
They are doing plenty of non miltary intervention, and last I checked they have no remit in the internal affairs of most countries.

Seems to be the only place pushing back against the spread of islam.

Eritrea, somalia have been for twenty years the opposite of this situation.

The rohingya are not as innocent as people aka the west make out.

They are just having the reverse done to them which makes it a problem. Try finding what Buddhists in Myanmar think of them and the why. You may find some pieces of the jigsaw slowly fitting into place.

They tried to destroy in the 50's with practices of rape/genocide/islamic dominance etc. Now the Burmese/Buddhists took a stand to say enough was enough. Now they don't like an enemy that fights back just as viciously and cry foul at the rules of the game they themselves set.

The item that started this was an assault on a police station killing 70. This is the response. Now they cry foul because the infidel is waking up.

Nice to see the UK arm of the KCNA doing its wonderful and entirely misleading fake news cover pieces against the Myanmar govt. But then what do we expect from a state propaganda speaker that is currently normalising acid attacks, rape gangs and denying all manner of these things.

We will likely see the US stop funding ISIS and start diverting their weapons and Intel to the Rohingya

Genocide, child beheading , rape. Good on them!

I don't think that it's as simple as that and that's certainly a one-sided view but regardless, nothing justifies killing and raping women and children.

More Buddhists have been injured than Muslims, although more Muslims have been killed than Buddhists. There have been terror attacks from both sides. It is not as simple as it's being made out to be. Then there's the issue of history, which consists mainly of Islamic attacks on Buddhists. Brutality breeds brutality.

Yeah, ain't exactly the best way to go about things is it?

Hmmn.

The Buddhist majority know full well what happens if a Muslim minority is allowed to grow in proportion to the point that they can take control. (Name ONE country, anywhere, where this has happened and it didn't turn out to be a very bad thing for the non-Muslims (Or even the not-so-bothererd Muslims for that matter))

They want to stop this from happening in Myanmar before it is too late.

What might be considered an acceptable means of achieving this objective?

Oh look, surprise surprise Saudi Arabia is funding islamic insurgents in Myanmar.

Good job the UK govt doesn't have close ties with Saudi, and isn't selling them $millions worth of military hardware...

Useful link, thanks. I didn't really know the history behind it all but that does explain some of it. It seems a bit more tit for tat than the one way oppression that's being touted in the mainstream news.
